Model, actress, business woman and producer Heidi Klum was born June 1, 1973 in Bergisch Gladbach, West Germany. Her parents are Günther and Erna Klum. In 1992 Klum entered “Model 92” and won the contest from a field of 25,000. The prize was a $300,000 modeling contract with Metropolitan Models New York. Klum’s pictures have been featured in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, Vogue, Victoria’s Secret and Marie Claire.
Acting and reality host are natural extensions for Heidi Klum. She has cameo roles on television show Sex and the City and How I Met Your Mother. Her credits in movies include The Devil Wears Prada and Ella Enchanted. She not only was the executive producer, but she hosted and judged reality show Project Runway in 2004.
Heidi Klum has also proven to be quite adept at merchandising. She has designed shoes for Birkenstock, a line of clothing for Jordache and swimsuits featured in fotos in Sports Illustrated 1992. Klum introduced two fragrances, “Heidi Klum” and “Me”. Heid wrote “Wondland” in 2006 and the money was given to a German charity. Klum recreated Tom Cruise’s dance sequence in the movie Risky Business by pretending to play a guitar for Guitar Hero World Tour commercial. Forbes has estimated that Klum will earn $19 million in 2009; her pics are still seen as she continues to model.
Heidi Klum married singer Seal in 2005. They have two sons together, a daughter from Klum’s previous relationship. Klum is pregnant and is due in October 2009.
